My father was into his rocks and minerals and he'd always have proudly on glass shelfs loads of rocks and minerals he collected over the years. On a Saturday late morning we'd drive to the Natural History Museum in Kensington, London and spend hours at the mineral collection hall. Nearly twenty years later, I finally put together a personal project of photographing all types of rocks and minerals in a more creative way. I've always held up rocks and minerals such as NAME, NAME and NAME and looked closely at the surface thought it was something from another planet. So using a Canon 1DX attached to a 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM Lens and some lighting tricks I spent whatever spare time I had to produce the above photographs.
